Free Lunches + Rec Passes for Kids!

FREE LUNCHES

SLC School District’s Summer Food Service Program will offer free meals to all children, ages 0-18, this summer! In Glendale, the lunches will be served at the Sorenson Center and Jordan Park, Monday-Friday. Click here to learn more about the program.

Did you know that kids aged 0-18 can get a free rec pass? Each child needs to be signed up for the program, but the pass will be valid until they turn 19 - no renewal required!

Volunteers Needed for Glendale Art Projects

Love Your Block is bringing a new mural to the Sorenson Unity Center, and we’re in search of volunteers to kick off the installation! 

Community volunteers should be prepared to patch, prime, and paint the mural wall outdoors alongside local muralist Lizzie Wenger. We will be meeting at the Sorenson Unity Center at 1383 S 900 W 10 am on Monday, June 15th. All materials will be provided.

Volunteers are encouraged to be prepared for the sun, heat, and to get a little dirty: wear sunscreen, bring plenty of water and snacks, and wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy in!

Be a part of creating a new public art work on the border between Glendale & Poplar Grove!

Glendale Neighborhood Council has received a city grant for a pilot project called SLC Stories. Salt Lake City artist Liberty Blake will be creating art woven into the chain link fence at the corner of 900 S & 700 W. The patterns will evoke the diversity of our community with color and variety.

Volunteers are needed on Saturday, June 27, 9am-Noon. We will meet on the northwest corner of 900 S & 700 W.

We will provide some shade, sunscreen, water and snacks.
