The 27th annual Friendly Islands Tongan Festival is one of the longest running festivals to celebrate Tongan culture and heritage in the United States. The Friendly Islands Tongan Festival showcases the food, arts, crafts and entertainment from Tonga and our Pacific Island community in Utah. Come join us for three days of cultural performances, entertainment, sport events, delicious food and shop in our marketplace for crafts, jewelry, clothing and more.

KRCL’s Day In The Park returns Saturday, September 7 and features local music, food and a chance for the KRCL community to come together in person to kick off KRCL’s 45th Anniversary Celebrations.

Norwegian Constitution Day
Each year, typically on the Saturday following May 17, Norwegians and friends of Norway gather at the International Peace Gardens in Salt Lake City to celebrate the Norwegian Constitution Day. The parade may not be down Karl Johans gate, but the spirit of 17.mai is always present. We hope you will join us in preserving the Norwegian heritage that is important to many in Utah

Tree Planting at Weseman Park
You're invited to the Love Your Block - Welcome to Glendale Tree Planting, hosted by the Glendale Neighborhood Council, Tree Utah, and Love Your Block. It will be tomorrow, Thursday, from 6-8 PM. We will be planting a total of 10 new trees at the Wesemann Memorial Park on the corner of 1300S/California Ave and 900 W. Join us for a day full of art! We highlight artists based in Glendale and neighboring communities and seek to promote the hard work of our partner organizations and those participating arts organizations that engage our community members.
We love to bring more art to Glendale, develop ongoing partnerships with like-minded community organizations, highlight community artists and organizations, and bring our community together!

EASY YOGA W/GLOW SPA
Start your day with some easy yoga on the grass, then enjoy all of our arts programming at this community art event!

ARTIST RUN CLUB - MURAL RUN
Take an easy 3-mile jog down the 9-Line to check out Glendale’s latest art murals. This local running club combines running and art weekly. Here is the run schedule:
- 10:50am Meet at the entrance to the Peace Gardens (just inside the main gates)
- 11:00am Start Run
- Noon or so - Return to Art @ the Gardens, grab a bite and check out all that Art @ the Gardens has to offer!
Suggested attire: Shorts, t-shirts, road shoes, and a hand held water bottle is highly recommended as it could be warm!
OUTDOOR LIVING ROOM w/Salt Lake City Arts Council
Meet Matthew Mazzotta, the artist creating a large public art installation for the new Glendale Regional Park. A key aspect of his process is the Outdoor Living Room, a temporary public gathering space designed to capture community voices.

Make a peace passport and craft art that connects you to your community, nature and creativity! You’ll get to make a cyanotype, try relief printing, make a button and participate in an interactive art performance connected to the Jordan River.

Renter Resource Fair
Salt Lake City Housing Stability will be hosting a Renter Resource Fair at the Glendale Library on October 23 from 5:30-7:30 pm. There will be a dozen organizations tabling to provide resources ranging from legal assistance to landlord mediation. Free dinner will be provided, and there will be a community health group providing flu and COVID-19 shots.
